Privacy Policy
V Intellect (Pty) Ltd ("we") respects your privacy and complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone, company details, billing address.
- RFQ & quotation content: descriptions, drawings, files, communications.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device info, audit logs.
- Payment data: handled by PayFast; we never store card numbers.
How we use your data
- To operate and improve the V Intellect platform.
- To route RFQs to matched suppliers (only on customer instruction).
- To send transactional and (with consent) marketing emails.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
RFQ details are shared confidentially with matched suppliers. We never sell personal data. We use the following sub-processors under appropriate data-processing terms:
- Hostinger International Ltd — web hosting infrastructure (EU datacentres).
- PayFast (Pty) Ltd — payment processing (South Africa; PCI-DSS Level 1).
- Google LLC — analytics and (where enabled) advertising delivery.
- SMTP provider — transactional email delivery.
Cross-border data transfers
V Intellect is operated from South Africa, but our hosting provider (Hostinger) stores data in European Union datacentres. In line with POPIA Section 72, we rely on the recipient country being subject to data protection laws (GDPR) that provide an adequate level of protection. Payment data is processed by PayFast in South Africa.
Your rights under POPIA
- Access and correction of your personal information.
- Withdrawal of marketing consent at any time.
- Erasure where lawful (subject to record-keeping obligations).
- Object to processing for direct marketing or based on legitimate interest.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Retention
Account data: retained while your account is active and for 7 years thereafter for tax / audit purposes. RFQs and quotations may be archived for the same period in encrypted form.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) and stored on hosting infrastructure subject to access control. Files uploaded as part of RFQs and quotations are stored in non-public directories and served via authenticated, ACL-checked endpoints only. We log administrative actions for audit review.
